5 Cups flour
1 Cup salt
2 Tbs alum
mix the dry ingredients well
4 cups BOILING water colored with liquid watercolor or food coloring (I generally boil the water in the microwave while we are mixing the dry ingredients)
add 6 Tbs cooking oil to the water (I do this after boiling the water)
add the water/oil to the dry ingredients and mix well
I use a really large bowl and mix in the bowl until the play dough pulls away from the sides then I turn it onto the table and knead until the consistency is right. By the time I have it kneaded well it is cool enough for the kids to touch, but still quite warm
Kids: "can we touch it yet?"
Me: "yes, but it is still very hot, be careful...touch gently!"
We spent lots of time creating with play dough in the morning. In addition to our usual dough tools (rollers, cutting tools and shape cutters) we added colorful straw pieces and some corks.
We enjoyed dancing! Here M, L and L "move like a snake" while listening to "Animal Action."
Babies all lined up and watching the girls dance!
This is dancing to the "Freeze" song.
